Victorian Picture Nail Hanger Antique Cobalt Sulphide Glass Hardware Paperweight Blue Maltese Cross
$31.20 $39.00Ask a question
Wonderful & decorative antique picture hanger nail has a cobalt blue Maltese cross design head under clear glass, mounted on a brass plaque which unscrews from the nail shaft. This allows one to hammer the shaft into the wall, then screw the decorative head on without damaging it. Circa 1880s.
FYI: you should drill a 1/8 inch pilot hole before hammering any picture nail shafts into a wood picture rail or plaster wall.
This clear glass nail with blue cross is about 7/8" in diameter and about 2.75" long. The clear glass has bubbles & a couple of tiny flaws - it is simply charming!

Returns and exchange details
As veraviola sells almost exclusively vintage & antique items, it is likely nothing will be "like new." I strive to mention any wear, soiling or flaws. However, since condition is often subjective, I will also do my best to provide very detailed photos for your examination. Please look at all photos and note listed measurements. But please contact me with any problems or concerns ~ I do want your experience with Vera Viola to be memorable in a good way!
Jewelry is sold on an 'as is' basis, so please ask any questions before purchasing. I provide multiple photos, measurements, and a detailed description.
Please convo me immediately with your reason if you are wanting to return any purchase. Buyer is responsible for return postage. The item would need to be shipped via a tracked, insured method AND received back by me in its original condition and original packaging within 14 days of the transaction (domestic orders). If these conditions are met, I will then refund the payment (less the original shipping charge if shipping upgrade was chosen).
While my home is smoke & pet free, please remember that the items I sell lived somewhere else for many years before they came home with me! Also, as a rule, I generally just dust off vintage items and send them on their way.
Veraviola doesn’t sell or share your information.
